Ensuring Pilates reformer safety – does it meet standards?
We are pleased to announce that the new C8-Pro Pilates Reformer and A8-Pro Pilates Reformer from Align-Pilates have both just passed independent testing to ISO20957-1 (Class S). This standard specifies general safety requirements (and test methods) for stationary training equipment (which includes large equipment like reformers) for use in training areas of organisations such as sport associations, educational establishments, hotels, sports halls, clubs, rehabilitation centres, and studios. All stationary training equipment in the UK, EU & many other countries should meet this standard in order to be used in Pilates Studios & clubs.
A number of Pilates equipment brands are unaware of the requirement for Pilates reformers to meet this standard, which includes rigorous safety and cycle testing, that many reformers will not be able to survive! For the welfare of your clients and to ensure conformity with health and safety and insurance requirements we suggest you only buy Pilates reformers that conform to this standard.
A8-Pro loaded with maximum weight of 150Kg prior to being tested for 100,000 cycles with all springs attached and 80% of maximum travel distance.
